I moved into this location in 1990 and became addicted to watching the weather.  I started with just a mercury high-low thermometer and would record the highs and lows manually on my computer.

In December of 1994,  I purchased and installed a Davis Instruments Weather Wizard III that was hooked to the computer and automatically recorded the weather data.  It only gave outside temperature, inside temperature, wind speed, and the wind chill.  This unit is still working and is only recording the temperature in my unheated basement laundry room.

In November of 2003, I  purchased and installed a Davis Instruments Wireless Weather Monitor II, which included barometric pressure, wind direction and speed, outside and inside temperature and humidity, and a heated rain collector.  This unit also was connected to the computer and automatically downloaded the data.  Once this unit was up and running, I began reporting my data to WeatherUnderground online.

In January of 2014,  I upgraded to a Davis Instruments wireless VantagePro 2 Plus station.  It includes a 24 hour fan aspirated radiation shield and,  also,  solar and UV sensors.  The solar sensor allows me to track hours of sunshine.
